First draft in the tank!

This morning I finished the first draft of Foul Territory. It clocks in at between 61,000 and 62,000 words, which qualifies it as a novel. That's good news. My plan now is to ignore it for a couple of months, then haul it out and read it to myself. I'll make some additions, and some deletions (hopefully not too many of those) and have a second draft ready for review by some of my fellow writers sometime around the holidays. The final product should be ready for publication in early 2016. Woohoo!

I'm very excited about the idea I have for my third novel, and I think you're gonna dig this one, too. I can't wait to get started on it, but first I plan to do a couple of shorter projects. I have some ideas for some short stories involving some of the characters from A Pebble Tossed when they were young. I know I said I wouldn't write a sequel, and I'm still sticking to that. These short stories will serve as a prequel to the novel, and a short, episodic one at that.

On a side note, I've had to change the name of my blog back to its original name, Mark's Musings. I found another blog with the name Mark My Words, and would you believe this, the guy's name is also Mark Taylor. Too much confusion there.
